Ingredients & Quantities

For the apples:

  • 4 firm apples (Braeburn, Pink Lady, or Granny Smith)

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon

For the oat crumble:

  • 60g rolled oats

  • 40g chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts work well)

  • 2 tbsp coconut oil or butter, melted

  • 2 tbsp maple syrup or honey

  • ½ tsp cinnamon

  • Pinch of salt

  • Apple corer or small spoon

  • Mixing bowls

  • Baking dish

  • Foil

  • Spoon or small scoop



How to Make It

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C fan).

  2. Core the apples, leaving the bottoms intact. Brush with lemon juice and sprinkle with cinnamon.

  3. In a bowl, mix all crumble ingredients until combined.

  4. Fill each apple generously with the oat mixture.

  5. Place apples in a baking dish with a splash of water. Cover with foil.

  6. Bake for 25 minutes covered, then uncover and bake for another 15–20 minutes until golden and soft.

  7. Serve warm with ice cream, cream, or yoghurt.
