Crispy Prosciutto-Wrapped Boursin Cheese

…with Honey & Nuts (The Easiest Fancy Appetiser Ever)

If you’re looking for an appetiser that’s effortless but looks like it came straight off a restaurant menu, this Crispy Prosciutto-Wrapped Boursin Cheese will be your new favourite party trick.

It’s salty, creamy, crispy, sweet, crunchy — literally everything you want in one bite. With only four ingredients, it’s the easiest “I didn’t try hard but this tastes incredible” recipe you’ll make all year. Ideal for girls’ night, date night, holidays, dinner parties, or whenever you want to impress.

This appetiser is dangerously simple… and dangerously addictive. Let’s make it.

What the Recipe Is

A whole wheel of soft Boursin cheese wrapped in thin slices of prosciutto, pan-seared or baked until hot, melty, and crispy. Once it’s golden, you drizzle it with warm honey and top it with chopped nuts for crunch.

The result: a gooey, salty-sweet, ultra-creamy appetiser that feels chic but takes minutes.

Why You’ll Love It

  • Only four ingredients
  • Ready in under 15 minutes
  • Melty, crispy, creamy perfection
  • Looks stunning on a snack board
  • Incredible flavour payoff for minimal effort
  • Works for every occasion — from cosy nights in to full dinner parties

What Does It Taste Like?

Imagine buttery, herb-filled Boursin melting into a creamy puddle while salty prosciutto crisps up around it like a thin, savoury shell.

Then comes the drizzle of warm honey…
Then the crunchy bite of chopped nuts…

It’s sweet. Salty. Savoury. Creamy. Crispy.
Everything your palate wants — all at once.

Benefits

  • Takes basic ingredients and elevates them instantly
  • Naturally low-carb and gluten-free
  • Easily doubled for parties
  • Pairs perfectly with crackers, crostini, grapes, and bread
  • No complicated cooking — truly beginner-friendly

Ingredients & Quantities

  • 1 wheel Boursin cheese (any flavour works — garlic & herb is classic)
  • 4–6 slices prosciutto
  • 2–3 tbsp honey
  • 2–3 tbsp chopped nuts (pistachios, walnuts, almonds, or pecans)

Optional additions:

  • Fresh thyme or rosemary
  • Crushed red pepper flakes
  • Fig jam or balsamic glaze on the side

Tools You’ll Need

  • Small oven-safe skillet OR baking sheet
  • Knife + cutting board
  • Spoon for drizzling honey
  • Parchment paper (optional)

How to Make It

  1. Wrap the Boursin
Place prosciutto slices on a board, slightly overlapping.
Set the Boursin wheel in the center and wrap tightly so it’s fully enclosed.
  2. Crisp the Prosciutto
    Option A — Skillet:
Heat a small skillet over medium heat. Add wrapped Boursin and cook 2–3 minutes per side until crispy.
    Option B — Oven:
Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 10–12 minutes until golden.
  3. Add the Toppings
    Remove from heat.
    Drizzle generously with honey.
Sprinkle chopped nuts on top for crunch.
  4. Serve Immediately
Serve warm with crackers, crostini, toasted bread, or fresh fruit.

Additional Tips

  • Use cold Boursin for easier wrapping
  • For extra crunch, broil the top for 1–2 minutes
  • If making for a bigger crowd, bake multiple wheels at once
  • Add a pinch of chilli flakes for sweet heat
  • Pistachios are the prettiest nut choice for colour

FAQs

Can I make this ahead of time?

You can wrap the Boursin in prosciutto ahead, but bake/cook right before serving for best crispiness.

Can I use bacon instead of prosciutto?

Yes! Par-cook bacon first, then wrap and finish in the oven.

What should I serve with it?

Crackers, toasted baguette, sliced apples/pears, grapes, or a charcuterie board.

Does it reheat well?

Best eaten fresh, but you can reheat in the oven for 5–8 minutes.
